Israeli Black Hawk pilots are gaining enhanced situational awareness as Elbit Systems equips the fleet with its new Helmet Display and Tracking System (HDTS), a solution designed to optimize flight performance and safety.
The HDTS delivers real-time, 3D “video game-style” views of terrain, obstacles, and flight paths, giving crews a virtual cockpit perspective that cuts through dust, fog, and low-light conditions.
It also helps during approach and landing, with a synthetic landing display that keeps pilots aware of the ground and obstacles in extreme brownout situations.
