Russia is turning captured Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) into its own fleet of repurposed attack systems for use against their original operators, state-owned media reported.
In the southern Donetsk region, Russian troops are reportedly operating a “special laboratory” that dismantles captured or damaged Ukrainian drones before reassembling them into combat first-person view drones.
They strip components from up to six captured UAVs to build a single operational system, with the facility said to be processing around 1,500 drones every two weeks.
