Hermeus has been awarded a $159-million contract to showcase high-Mach drone flight capabilities for the US Department of Defense.
The award brings the total contract value to $219 million and is reported to be one of the largest ever issued by the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU).
The California-based company will work with the US Air Force and Navy to demonstrate that uncrewed aircraft can achieve high-Mach speeds while releasing tactical payloads in flight.
