The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has activated a new artificial intelligence unit tasked with rapidly delivering AI-powered operational tools and data-processing capabilities to frontline troops.
Named “Alumot,” the unit will sit under the IDF’s C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate, bringing together combat personnel, AI specialists, technology operators, and information researchers.
“The unit will operate to develop and make accessible the information and artificial intelligence capabilities we have to the fighters at the front,” said Major General Aviad Dagan, head of the C4I and Cyber Defense Directorate, as quoted by israel.com.
