Artificial intelligence (AI), turbojet interceptors, and tactical radars are now working as one in Europe’s latest stab at drone defense.
French firm Alta Ares has introduced the Tactical Protection Dome, a counter-unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) system that pairs Thales and Echodyne radars with X-Wing turbojet interceptors to stop threats within a 30-kilometer (19-mile) range.
Once an interceptor commits to a target, an onboard algorithm takes over, assisting in the final approach without human input.
